Wheels and castors make life easier if chosen properly Please consider the supplied information carefully. If you do not follow our recommendations you may release us from liability. 1/ The castors and wheels supplied by us are generally interchangeable, and attached to trolleys, furniture, industrial containers and similar products to make them mobile. Unless specified otherwise in our catalogue, our products must not be used at a speed exceeding walking pace, and not under continuous motion. They can be divided into the following categories of application:

Domestic purposes - eg. furniture	The product sectors in the Fallshaw series are arranged to suit these categories of applications
General /Institutional services - eg. office equipment, shopping trolleys, hospital beds, patient trolleys
Lighter industrial purposes (up to 4km/hr) - eg. medium materials handling equipment
Heavier industrial services (up to 16 km/hr) - eg. heavier trolleys and spring towed equipment

When selecting a castor or wheel it is necessary to consider all aspects as shown in the catalogue. For satisfactory use correct fitting is essential: a. Correct and secure fitting to the article b. The fixing position must have adequate strength and material for secure fitting c. The function of the castor must not be changed nor affected by the fixing d. The swivel action axis must be vertical at all times e. Fixed castors must have their wheel axles in alignment f. If all swivel castors are used, then they must be common to each other g. If fixed castors are used with swivel castors, they must be compatible, and as recommended by us. When castors are used outdoors, in coastal areas, or corrosive and/or aggressive areas, special products have to be specified. For use in temperatures below 5°C and above 30°C the efficiency of the castor can be impaired, particularly the normal load capacity as published can be affected when used in temperatures below/above those stated herein. Special products can be specified. Component parts are assembled into a complete castor or wheel. The manufacturer is only liable for the original component parts making the complete product. You must allow for all possible loads when selecting products. Otherwise use increased safety factors. 2/ Misuse occurs if wheels and castors are used other than specified for their intended use. Do not misuse the castors or wheels. The word 'misuse' can be defined as: 2.1 Overloading 2.2 Unsuitable flooring 2.3 Excessive temperatures 2.4 Failure to release brake 2.5 Exposure to caustic substances 2.6 Excessive shock loading 2.7 Ingression of foreign objects into wheel treads 2.8 Excessive speeds 2.9 Changes made to the component parts and assembled castors not previously agreed in writing with the original manufacturer. 3/ Should the user not find a product clearly described in our catalogues, leaflet, descriptive literature etc, then any new castor or wheel designed for the particular application has to be fully agreed with us. Any new design will be subject to the relevant Australian Standard, or in its absence to relevant ISO or CEN standards, as well as the Quality Standard ISO9001. 4/ Product maintenance must occur at regular intervals The maintenance of castors is usually: • Regreasing the swivel and wheel bearings • Retightening the axle, and/or the adjustable kingpin when fitted • Should any cleaning agents be used, then these same agents should not contain corrosive, nor grinding elements • Wheels, castors or components must be replaced if they cease to operate effectively. 5/ Duty to inform, instruct and use correctly We provide information in our catalogues and on our website (cgeneral) to inform and instruct in the correct use of these products. In the event if we are asked about unusual applications we provide written advice. We urge our distributors/resellers to inform their customers as to the availability of this information.
